Campsite

Troop Seven Campsite is located in Coral Gables Florida. The students were tasked with preserving and respecting a historic chimney on the site. The concept was to work with the traditional Mediterranean Revival architecture of the area while providing the most special experience possible for the campers. The focus was on community areas where campers could form lasting friendships--whether stitting in a gazebo, playing in the grass or talking in a bay window. The drawings were done with pencil on vellum. The model is of a gazebo that can be found peeking through trees when one first pulls up to the campsite. The intricate details were cut out of basswood using a laser cutter, while the curved roof is wood veneer.
