KEY WEST CIVIC BUILDING

Professor: Victor Deupi

Award winning and published project, Coral Stone Corner is located in Key West, FL and was designed to be used as a public gathering space. The building is nestled on the corner of the site allowing both citizens and tourists the opportunity to collect in the front area of the site. The civic building forms a plaza, clearly telling a passerby that this is an important civic monument. During the day tourists or locals can come sit and read inside, run up the stairs, or just relax from a warm summer day. Often when walking around Key West it can be challenging to find a powder room or water fountain. The building off to the side will hold these amenities. The building is inspired by the Tempietto and Temple Vesta, but adapted for a new purpose and climate.
