La Playa Bus and Ferry Stations

The Proposed Bus and Ferry Station, linked by a tram on a pier, aim to enhance connectivity of the informal settlement of La Playa by integrating with proposed and existing transportation networks. The proposal would allow for La Playa to have a tourist destination, while also providing residents with greater access to opportunity around the settlement and nearby city. The buildings aim to integrate with the irregularity of the vernacular urbanism. The bus station terminates a street, while the ferry station anchors the end of the pier, framing the view out to the Cienaga Mallorquin. The pier winds through the restored natural landscape, elevated as not to disturb the wildlife. The materials and construction are building upon already existing skills in masonry and wood construction.
